Born from need. Built on hope.
Blessed Champions Mark Academy began with twelve children meeting under a mango tree in Mlolongo. Today we serve 238 children and are supported by 13 teachers, 1 cleaner, and 1 cooker.
Mlolongo is a busy transit town on the edge of Nairobi. Trucks rumble through day and night. Families live in iron-sheet homes between the warehouses, working long hours for very little. Children here are often the first to be sent away from school when money runs out.
Our founder, Mary, grew up in these same streets. She knows what hunger feels like in a classroom. She opened a small room in her home as a school for neighborhood children whose parents could not afford fees. Word spread. Within a year, twelve children became seventy.
Today, Blessed Champions Mark Academy is a fully registered Community-Based Organization running a Pre-Primary and Grade 1–6 school. We feed every child twice a day, provide uniforms and books, and refuse to turn away any child for inability to pay.
We are not just a school. We are a family — and we are the only family some of these children have.
What we promise every child.
No child is shamed for their background. Every uniform, every meal, every desk is given freely.
Poverty is not a reason for second-rate education. We hire qualified teachers and aim high.
We follow our children through their schooling — and beyond. We do not abandon them.
